We have been checking in with all of our sources in all three campaigns, including Altmire's disgruntled staffer. We believe there is a 50/50 shot that Altmire will be taken off the ballot. So if this scenario comes to pass, the Altmire expulsion offers some interesting issues: 1. Can Altmire proceed as an independent and would he? 2. Will the Altmire campaign be required to return in full its 2012 primary war chest? We can certainly understand Altmire donors, even as we speak, asking for their money back, but will the Lobbyist be required to return their donations?
